Hanover Launches Phone Survey for Parks, Recreation & Culture Master Plan
December 28, 2017
HANOVER, ON – A component of Hanover’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan is to seek input from residents and community organizations and user groups. January is a key month for the public engagement process.
On behalf of the Town, Oraclepoll will be conducting a telephone survey of Hanover and area residents beginning the week of January 8th and continuing until February 2nd. If contacted, individuals are encouraged to participate to provide your input regarding your use of Hanover’s parks, recreation and culture facilities, programs and services. Completed surveys from 300 Hanover residents and 100 other area residents will be obtained.
As well, focus group sessions have been arranged with a variety of user groups, service organizations and community representatives. The focus groups include indoor stakeholder, outdoor stakeholder, arts and culture and community and service organizations. Representatives from various groups have been invited to attend the focus group sessions planned for January 13th.
In the near future a public meeting will be held for all interested parties to be engaged in the master plan process and provide input. Public input is important as the Town develops a Master Plan that will guide future decision making of parks, recreation & culture services over the next 15 years.
prc solutions is the firm that is completing the Master Plan. Other tasks currently in process is the review of background documents and data and collection of information from the comparator municipalities that include Parry Sound, Renfrew, St. Mary’s, Kincardine and Goderich.
Further updates will be available via the Town website and social media. For more information on the Master Plan, please go to www.hanover.ca/parks-and-recreation-master-plan.
