The Town of Hanover joins leading municipalities in Ontario in developing its first Cultural Plan. The Plan will promote Hanover as a creative and vibrant community with rich and diverse arts and cultural resources that contribute to growing the local economy and enhancing quality of life.
Our launch event during Culture Days was a success. Building on the results of the session, the Town of Hanover and MDB Insight is launching a community survey. The survey will be an opportunity for residents to provide input to help shape the vision, directions and priorities of the Cultural Plan. Input and insight will also be sought from arts, culture and heritage groups, and the business community.
From November 2 to December 21, the community survey will be available online for any interested residents to complete. The survey can be accessed via the following link (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/hanoverculturalplansurvey). In person, surveys can be completed at the Hanover Public Library, Civic Centre (Upper Floor), P&H Centre (Lobby), the Saugeen Artists Guild Pop-up Gallery and at Launch Pad.
Additionally, the community survey will also be administered via a Computer-Assisted-Telephone Interviewing (CATI) system. The telephone survey will begin on November 5th and will select up to 175 randomly selected residents of the Town of Hanover and surrounding communities. To maintain randomness and ensure a statistically valid sample, not everyone in the community will be contacted. It should also be noted that eligible respondents must be 18 years of age or older. In an effort to achieve accurate results, residents are highly encouraged to participate if selected; however, participation is completely voluntary. Residents who are contacted by MDB Insight and express that they do not wish to participate in the survey will be placed on a “do not call” list.
Responses from both surveys will be confidential and will be reported in an aggregated format. Both surveys will take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete.
If there are any inquires or comments about the Cultural Plan process please contact April Marshall, Economic Development Manager, 519.364.2780 x 1253 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Cultural Plan is being supported by a Steering Committee made up of municipal staff and key community stakeholders who will offer valuable insights into cultural needs and opportunities in the municipality.
