Bluewater Radio Board Members Resign

HANOVER, ON – The Town of Hanover appointed members of the Bluewater Radio Board of Directors have agreed to be removed from the Board citing irreconcilable differences with the Bluewater Radio Board members and management on issues associated with the operation of Bluewater Radio. Council has accepted these resignations and will not be appointing new members to the board.

In 2017, Bluewater Radio approached the Town to assist with its financial challenges.  The decision to purchase the building at 267 10th Street and appoint members to the board of Bluewater Radio was made in good faith in an effort to assist the station in becoming sustainable in a short period of time.  It is now apparent that Bluewater Radio has not been receptive to the Town’s assistance and wishes to proceed on its own.

The Town will honour its commitments as outlined in its current agreement with Bluewater Radio which expires December 31, 2019.  At this time, Council does not intend to renew the agreement with Bluewater Radio when it expires in 2019.
