March 13, 2020, TOWN OF HANOVER – The Town of Hanover’s first priority is the health and safety of our residents, staff, and the visitors to our community. The Town continues to work closely with the Grey Bruce Health Unit, Hanover Hospital, health professionals in Grey and Bruce County and our neighbouring municipalities to monitor and respond accordingly to the COVID-19 situation.
At this time, the Town has suspended the following activities in an effort to enact the public health measures of social distancing as implemented by the province. The situation is being assessed daily and other decisions will be made as necessary.
P & H Centre
The following programming and facilities have been suspended:
No new rentals will be booked until further notice.
Hanover Community Theatre
All scheduled rentals and events at the theatre have been suspended.
Hanover Civic Centre
All scheduled rentals have been cancelled. The municipal offices will remain open and providing essential services. If you are sick or just returning from vacation from a foreign country, please call instead.
Residents are reminded that various Town services are available online. In addition, all council meetings are taped and shown on Wightman TV. Please refer to Town of Hanover website.
Hanover Public Library
All scheduled programming has been suspended. The library will not be open to the public.
Services including downloadable ebooks, audiobooks and magazines, as well as our new streaming video services will be available online.
Staff will answer the phones during regular hours, to provide information, maintain reference services and provide support for library online services. For further information, please visit Hanover Library and watch our social media posts.
The Town will evaluate other events and gatherings on a case by case basis. Maintaining social distancing is important to minimize the potential for community transmission.
