TOWN OF HANOVER TO FURTHER RESTRICT FACILITIES IN RESPONSE TO ADDITIONAL PROVINCIAL SHUTDOWN DIRECTIVES

To support the media release issued on April 14 by the Grey Bruce Health Unit and the Premier’s announcement on April 16 of additional Provincewide stay-at-home orders effective 12:01 am on Saturday, April 17, 2021, the Town of Hanover will be closing or restricting access to facilities and services accordingly.

This DOES NOT affect the scheduled vaccination clinics and hours at the P & H Centre. The P & H Centre will only be open on vaccination dates for those with scheduled appointments.

The following municipal services will be affected until further notice:

Civic Centre (341 10th Street)

The Civic Centre will be closed. Payments can be made to the Town through on-line banking, mail and by using the drop-off box located adjacent to the main doors of the Civic Centre. For further details on electronic services, please refer to the e-services page on our website by selecting the following link e-services.   Staff will continue to answer the phones during regular hours to provide information, maintain referral services and provide support.

Appointments will not be available until further notice. This includes for permits, licences and commissioning of documents.

P & H Centre and Parks/Trails

The P&H Centre will remain closed. Swim lessons and advanced aquatic courses are on hold. Communication will occur with registrants when further details are known.

Playgrounds, soccer fields, ball diamonds, basketball courts, tennis and pickleball courts are closed. Trails and dog park will remain available for use. Please adhere to all posted signage.

Hanover Public Library

Curbside pickup has been suspended until further notice. Items can be returned to the drop box but please do not leave home just to return library materials. Library staff will renew them for you and suspend overdue fines during this crisis.  Call us! Even if we are not working in the library, leave us a message and staff will call back. We can provide assistance with choosing your next reads and accessing books and videos online, answer your information and support questions, provide virtual and no-contact children’s activities, and help with using all our online resources. We will also be distributing information to the public through those calls, social media and email news. 

Launch Pad
Programming at Launch Pad Youth Activity and Technology Centre has been suspended. Please contact Launch Pad directly to get specific details about each program.
