MEDIA RELEASE | May 10, 2023 | Town of Hanover Launches Citizen Questionnaire for Strategic Plan Development

HANOVER, ON – The Town of Hanover is developing a new strategic plan and invites residents and business owners to participate in a citizen questionnaire to help the Town establish municipal priorities for 2023 to 2027. Linton Consulting Services Inc. has been retained by the Town to complete the strategic plan.

“We recognize that our ability to consistently deliver exceptional services to our community depends on spending our time, energy and money on the things that matter to our residents”, stated Mayor Sue Paterson. “Public input on the Town’s services will provide valuable feedback that will help shape the plan and priorities for this term of council and beyond.”

The online questionnaire can be accessed from home on your preferred electronic device or by attending the Hanover Municipal Office or Library at the Civic Centre where a public computer will be available to complete the questionnaire. Staff at the Municipal Office and Library will assist if you have questions or need help completing the questionnaire.

To access the online questionnaire, visit the Town’s website www.hanover.ca and click on the link provided in the pop up message (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/hanoverstrategicplan). Paper copies of the questionnaire are also available from the Municipal Office, P & H Centre customer service desk and Library.

Having citizens and business owners provide input and share their vision for the Town’s future is very important to the success of the plan. The deadline to complete the online questionnaire is May 26, 2023 (extended to June 12, 2023). Paper copies must be returned to any of the above noted locations by May 24th (extended to June 12th). Those participants who choose to enter the draw question included will be eligible to win a Hanover prize pack.

The objective is to establish a results-focused strategic action plan that will guide Council in their decision making and the staff management team with implementation of initiatives during this term of Council and beyond. Once completed, the strategic plan will support the Town’s vision and will identify Town priorities for strengthening our position as a progressive and vibrant community. The plan will be instrumental in helping the Town respond to opportunities for the betterment of our community and organization.
